PRACTICE TEST 1 WORKSHEET

To Be Used While Taking Practice Test 1

When taking the following practice test (Practice Test 1), use this worksheet to list the vocabulary and content areas with which you are unfamiliar or need to review. After you have read and responded to, or noted on this worksheet, all the test questions, return to the questions you listed on the worksheet as ones to “revisit” first. Then, if you still have time remaining, go back and review the questions you marked as “No Clue.” After you have completed the test, use the terms and concepts you have listed on this worksheet in your future study sessions.

PRACTICE TEST 1

1. Three days ago, a field hockey player tripped over another player and landed on her outstretched right hand, sustaining a strain of her wrist flexor muscles. To return this athlete to today’s practice session, you are applying a fan tape procedure to her wrist to limit the motion that stretches her injured tissues. Place the lettered actions in the order they should be completed to apply this tape procedure. Not all lettered actions will be used in answering this question.

A. Apply an anchor of 1.5-in. or 2-in. nonelastic tape around the distal hand, just proximal to the MCP joints, and an anchor around the distal humerus.

B. Start the next strip on the palmar hand by overlapping the first by half of the tape width and applying a parallel strip from distal to proximal anchor.

C. Place a strip of 1.5-in. to 2-in. nonelastic tape on the dorsolateral hand anchor, proceed in a proximal direction across the hand and wrist, and end on the distal forearm anchor.

D. Continue to apply four to five additional strips in this overlapping pattern so as to cover the entire wrist.

E. Apply an anchor of 1.5-in. or 2-in. nonelastic tape around the distal hand, just proximal to the MCP joints, and an anchor around the distal forearm.

F. Start the next strip on the dorsal hand by overlapping the first by half of the tape width and applying a parallel strip from distal to proximal anchor.

G. Place a strip of 1.5-in. to 2-in. nonelastic tape on the palmar lateral hand anchor, proceed in proximal direction across the hand and wrist, and end on the distal forearm anchor.

H. At the distal hand and forearm, apply two to four closure ...
