Introduction

A motor point is the place in a muscle where the muscle is most easily excited with a minimum amount of electrical stimulation; the motor point is usually located near the center of the muscle mass, where the motor nerve enters the muscle. For each muscle, the motor point may vary from patient to patient, or even at different times for the same patient, depending on the pathology. The accompanying charts are guides to the motor points.
