INTRODUCTION

Many professional organizations release research-based stands and consensus statements that include evidence-based recommendations for the profession. The following is a current list of examples from two professional organizations. Full text of these position stands, position statements, and consensus statements can be found on each organization's website.

Some professional organizations, such as the National Athletic Trainers' Association, are now providing a category of evidence, based on the strength of recommendation taxonomy (SORT), for each recommendation contained within the statements.
